Price lists: national and international tour prices
A price list is a complete set of prices in one currency, for one kind of customer: national visitors in CLP and international visitors in USD, for example. Customers pick the list that applies to them.
Your default price list
Every business has one default price list, open to everyone, in your sales currency. Online travel agencies sell its prices, search engines read them, and your website shows them until a visitor says which list applies to them. Every other list is for the customers its text names.
Adding a price list
- 1
Start
Go to Configuration → Bookings and click Add a price list.
- 2
Say who today's prices are for
Asked only while you have one list: choose National customers or International customers.
- 3
Describe the new list
Choose its Type, National, International or Custom, and its Sales currency. For a national or international list, TourTask writes its name and who it is for: click the pen to write your own.
- 4
Fill in its prices
Under Prices, pick the list to Copy from and an Exchange rate (between lists in one currency, a percentage under Change by), then the Rounding.
- 5
Choose the default
Answer Which price list is the default? and click Create.
Prices are copied once, converted and rounded: they don't follow the exchange rate afterwards. A new list is offered to customers as soon as it is created.
A list's own prices and seasons
- Prices for, in the tour editor, the variant templates and Tours → Add-ons, has a link for each list: open one to change that list's prices, in its currency. Save changes that list only.
- How a tour is priced, such as its Pricing mode, minimum and age groups, is set in the default list's view, for every list.
- Each list has its own seasons, under Tours → Seasons: see seasonal prices.
- A list's row says when prices are missing, such as "1 price is missing in this list". Those tours show Price unset to the list's customers until you enter them, and the list can't become the default.
What customers see
With two or more lists, your website and booking widget ask each visitor Which applies to you?, with every list's name and who it is for. Prices then show in the list picked, and the top bar shows it as Booking as, where it can be changed. Checkout asks nothing more; the booking, the voucher and the e-mails name the list.
Selling a booking on a list
In the booking form, Price list is under Economy. The contact's Country chooses it: a Chilean contact moves a Chilean business's booking to National · Chile. You can still change it by hand; the booking is then priced from that list, in its currency. The list of a booking from an OTA or an agent, or with a resold tour, can't be changed.
Changing the default list
In a list's menu (⋮), Make it the default price list shows what will change before anything does. Online travel agencies then sell that list's prices, and bookings already made keep theirs. It can't be done while other businesses resell your tours.
Deleting a price list
Delete, in a list's menu (⋮), removes the list with its prices and seasons. Its bookings move to the default list and keep their prices. A list that agents or agencies book on, or that promo codes are limited to, can't be deleted: move them off it first.
Agents and agencies
Each agency, and each agent without one, books on the list in its Prices from: see agents and agencies.
Questions we get asked
