Age groups: child, infant and senior prices for your tours

Age groups give children, infants and seniors prices of their own. You set them once for your business, and each tour chooses how it uses them.

Your business's age groups

  1. 1

    Open your age groups

Go to Configuration → Bookings and click Edit on Age groups.

  2. 2

    Choose the groups

Switch on the ones you use: Infant, Child, Youth and Senior. Adult is always on.

  3. 3

    Set their ages and discounts

Give each group a Minimum age, a Maximum age and a Discount off the Adult price, then click Save.

Children from 0 to 17 pay 50% less

How each tour prices age groups

On each tour's Private tour → Pricing and Group tour → Pricing, Age group pricing offers three choices:

Business discounts

The discounts of your business's age groups.

No age pricing

Every passenger pays the same price.

Custom for this tour

The tour's own price for each age group. With variants, it reads Custom for this variant.

Custom age prices

Choose Custom for this tour, then Percentage off the standard price or Fixed price per person, and fill in Age group prices:

A fixed child price for up to 2 children per booking
  • Adults pay the standard price: the tiers, the formula or the season's price. So does any age group you leave empty.
  • With Fixed price per person, a price on the Adult row replaces the standard price with one price per adult, in every season.
  • Max passengers at this price caps how many passengers of a group get its price on one booking. The others pay the standard price; nobody is refused.
  • Copy prices from takes the prices of another variant, or of the other tour type. Use these prices for all variants gives every variant the same.
  • Example party shows what each passenger of a party pays.

A tour's own age groups

To change which age groups can book a tour, or their ages, open the tour's Age groups section in the tour editor and click Override age groups:

  • Switch groups off, or change their Minimum age and Maximum age. The ages apply to every variant, private and group bookings alike.
  • On Infant, switch on Infants sit on lap for infants who travel without a seat: they don't count against the capacity.
  • Revert to business defaults goes back to your business's age groups.
  • While the tour uses Business discounts, its ages must match your business's, and a group your business has switched off stays off.
A tour's own age groups, and how it prices them

When a tour's ages differ from your business's, checkout asks each traveller's age. An add-on has the same Age groups card in its window, under Tours → Add-ons.

A season's own age prices

A season can give a tour's age groups other prices on its dates, such as a higher child price in high season. In the season, under Tours → Seasons, click Age group prices on the tour's row and choose Set age group prices for this season: see seasonal prices. It works for tours on Custom for this tour or Custom for this variant.
