Tour components: the guides and vehicles each tour needs
A component is something a tour needs to run and that you pay for: a guide, a driver, a vehicle. Customers never see components.
Adding components to a tour
- 1
Open the components
Open the tour under Tours → Manage, then Private tour → Components or Group tour → Components.
- 2
Add them
Click Add component… and pick one, or type a new name to create it. Add a component twice for a tour that needs two guides.
- 3
Save the tour
Click Save.
When the tour runs
Each booking or departure gets the tour's components. For each one, choose a provider and the cost: on the Operations calendar, or under group tour planning for group departures. You then pay providers under Economy → Pay → Tours.
Your list of components
Tours → Components lists every component you use, each a User (a person) or a Vehicle. TourTask's ready-made components, such as Guide, Driver and Vehicle, appear there once you use them; their names can't be changed. Create custom component adds your own, such as a winery your tours visit.
Paying per tour or per passenger
A component's Default cost mode sets how a new activity's cost is counted:
| Default cost mode | What you pay |
|---|---|
| Per tour | One amount for the activity |
| Per pax | An amount per passenger, times the activity's passengers |
You can switch the mode for each activity when you enter its cost.
Questions we get asked
Yes. A component is shared by your whole business, and its pencil saves at once. The × in a tour only takes it off that tour.
Removing a component asks for another one of the same type to replace it on your tours. Create one first if there is none.
Switch on Not paid per activity for the guide under Users → Manage, or for the vehicle under Vehicles. No cost is then asked for them.
