How to upload and manage your website's photos

Every photo you upload for your website is kept in its photo library, ready for any page. You open it with Photo library on Website builder → Pages.

Upload a photo

  1. 1

    Open the photo library

Go to Website builder → Pages and press Photo library at the top right.

  2. 2

    Press Upload a photo

Choose a JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or TIFF file of at most 25 MB. The newest photo comes first.

The photo library, each photo with its name and size

A photo you upload in a section's settings goes into the library too. There the photo picker offers your library under Your photos, your tours' photos under Tour photos, and Upload a photo.

The size each place needs

Where the photo goesAt least
The hero slideshow at the top of Home1920 × 1080 pixels
Behind icon boxes, a call-to-action banner or a numbers band1920 × 1080 pixels
The introduction with photos1200 pixels on its longer side
The photo of you or your team, across the top of About us1920 × 1080 pixels
The same photo, beside your story1200 pixels wide
Anywhere else600 pixels wide

Where a photo needs 1920 × 1080, the photo picker greys out smaller photos, with their size, and offers no tour photos: they are smaller.

Replace a photo by dropping another on it

In a section's settings, or in the setup wizard, drop a photo file on a photo to replace it, or on an empty place. It is cropped the way that section's photos are:

  • A hero or background photo to 1920 × 1080.
  • A photo of the introduction with photos to a shape you choose, from tall 2:3 to wide 3:2.
  • Any other photo is taken as it is.

Press Save in the crop window: the photo uploads while you go on. Then press Done in the section's settings, and Save on the page. Several photos dropped on the hero slideshow at once are cropped one after the other and added to it.

Rename or delete a photo

In the photo library, the pencil (Rename) renames a photo, and the bin (Delete) deletes it once you confirm. A photo a page shows cannot be deleted: the library names the pages that show it. Choose another photo there first.

Questions we get asked

It is smaller than its place needs (above), larger than 25 MB or 64 megapixels, or an SVG file. A photo you crop on upload must be a JPEG, PNG or WebP. After many uploads in a short time, wait a few minutes.

No. TourTask keeps each photo without its camera data, such as where it was taken, in sizes for every screen.

A photo you crop on upload is saved as a JPEG: what was transparent turns white. One taken as it is keeps its transparency.
