How your website shows in Google, and Google Analytics
Your website is made for search engines: each page states its title, its description and its languages, and the website has its own sitemap. You write the descriptions; TourTask makes the rest.
Page titles and descriptions
A page's title in search results is made for you: its Menu label, then "|" and your business name. Home shows your business name alone, and a tour's page the tour's name and your business name.
- 1
Open the page
Go to Website builder → Pages and click the page. With several languages, pick the language's tab.
- 2
Write its description
Type the Search result description at the top of the editor: one or two sentences on what the page offers.
- 3
Press Save
Save is at the top right.
A page without a description has none: nothing is made up. Write my texts with AI on Website builder → Overview writes every page's description, and a tour's page uses the tour's short description.
Verify your website in Google Search Console
- 1
Add your website in Search Console
In Google Search Console, add a property: choose URL prefix and type your website's address, such as https://www.yourcompany.com.
- 2
Copy the HTML tag
Among the verification methods Search Console lists, open HTML tag and copy the tag.
- 3
Paste it in TourTask
On Website builder → Design, paste it into Google site verification and press Save. Every page of your website then carries the tag.
- 4
Press Verify
Back in Search Console, press Verify.
Then add your sitemap in Search Console's Sitemaps report: under Add a new sitemap, type sitemap.xml after your website's address and press Submit. It lists every page and tour in each of your languages.
Add Google Analytics
Google Analytics shows how many people visit your website and how they found it, in your own Google account. It needs your Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID, which starts with G-.
- 1
Copy your Measurement ID
In Google Analytics, click Admin, then Data streams under Data collection and modification, then your website's stream. The Measurement ID is at the top.
- 2
Paste it on Website builder → Design
Under Google Analytics, paste it into Measurement ID. Where do I find it? under the field shows these steps too.
- 3
Press Save
Google Analytics then counts every page of your website, on its free address and on your own domain.
Pasting Google's whole tag keeps just the ID. If you paste another kind of ID, such as a Google Tag Manager or Google Ads ID, the field says what it is. To stop Google Analytics, empty the field and save.
The cookie banner
With Google Analytics on, your website asks each visitor first, in a banner at the bottom of the page. Accept all starts Google Analytics and Reject non-essential leaves it off, so Google Analytics counts only the visitors who accept.
Cookie settings in your website's footer brings the banner back, so a visitor can change their answer. The same answer covers your shop's ad tracking. That tracking, with the Meta Pixel and Google Ads, is set under Website integrations → Tracking.
What search engines find
- ✓Each page in each of your languages, at its own address, such as /about and /es/nosotros.
- ✓A sitemap of every page and tour, at /sitemap.xml.
- ✓On Home: your business's name, logo, public phone, address, map pin and social pages. Never your e-mail address or your ratings.
- ✓For links shared on social media: a page's first photo, or a tour's main photo.
A language TourTask is still translating for the first time stays hidden from search engines until its texts are there.
The icon in the browser tab
Your website's tab shows your Square logo, or your standard Logo while you have none. Both are under Configuration → General.
Questions we get asked

A page view for each page opened, its address without a booking's number or access link. And the steps in your shop: a tour opened, the cart, checkout begun, payment details added, and each payment with its value and booking number.
No. Website builder → Design takes a Google Analytics Measurement ID only.
