Google Business Profile for tour operators: get on Google Maps
Travellers look for tours on Google Maps: a Google Business Profile puts you there, with your photos and reviews, at no cost.
Choose the right kind of profile
| Your set-up | Your profile (Google, 2026) |
|---|---|
| An office or booth with your sign, staffed during your hours | A profile at that address |
| Hotel pickups or a public meeting point, and no office | A service-area profile: your address hidden, your area within about 2 hours' drive |
| Only a virtual office, a mailbox or a desk without your sign | Not allowed |
Use your real-world name, exactly as on your sign and website: see Name and domain for Google's naming rule.
Set it up in five steps
- 1
Create or claim your profile
At business.google.com, signed in with an account your business keeps, not a web designer's.
- 2
Pick the most specific category
Such as Tour operator, Boat tour agency or Sightseeing tour agency, and as few others as you need.
- 3
Verify it
Google chooses how: a video, a call, a text, an e-mail or a postcard. For a video, have your sign or branded vehicle and your business papers at hand. Verifying your website in Search Console first can make it instant.
- 4
Fill in everything
Description, hours, phone and WhatsApp, languages, your logo, and a booking link that opens your tours.
- 5
Answer the usual questions
Pickup zones, what to bring, children and weather, in your description and on your website. Google is replacing questions on profiles with AI answers drawn from your profile and reviews (2025).
Keep it fresh every month
Once a month, check that you have:
- 1Added new photos and short videos
From real departures.
- 2Set the right hours and closures
Seasonal breaks and holidays too.
- 3Posted what changed
A new tour, season or offer. Posts are archived after 6 months unless you give them dates (2026).
- 4Answered every review
Short and personal, the bad ones too: see Answer every review.
Let reviews move you up
Google ranks local results by relevance, distance and prominence. More reviews and good ratings help, and no one can pay for a better place (Google, 2026).
Ask for a review at the end of a good tour, once any problem is solved: see Get more reviews.
Reach Google Things to do through booking sites
Google Things to do shows tours in Search and Maps from booking systems and booking sites Google has approved, not from your profile. Sell on Viator, GetYourGuide or Civitatis under exactly the same name and location as your profile, and Google can show those tours on it, with their booking links (2026).
In TourTask
Your tours can reach Google Things to do through the booking sites TourTask connects you to: see Channel manager. Keep your phones, WhatsApp and review links in your Business profile, so your website shows what Google shows.
