Venmo has no sign-up of its own: it comes with a PayPal business account in the country listed above. TourTask uses the same two credentials as the PayPal gateway.
Get your PayPal credentials
- 1
Have a PayPal business account
If you have none yet, create one at paypal.com for your business. Venmo comes with it, with nothing to apply for.
- 2
Open Apps & Credentials
Sign in at developer.paypal.com with the business account, open Apps & Credentials and choose a live app, or create one.
- 3
Copy the two values
Copy the app's Client ID and Secret. If PayPal already runs in TourTask, they are the same two values.
Add Venmo in TourTask
- 1
Open the Venmo card
Go to Configuration → Payment options and click the Venmo card under Online payments → Payment gateways. Not there? Choose Show all gateways under the cards.
- 2
Choose the country and currency
Pick the Country where your Venmo account and its bank account are, and the Currency travellers pay in. Click Add. To change either later, remove Venmo with Remove and add it again.
- 3
Fill in your API credentials
Under Authentication, the card has a field for each:
Client ID
Client secretEach field saves when you click out of it.
- 4
Activate Venmo
Click Activate once every field is filled in. The card turns Active, and travellers can pay with Venmo on your booking page. Every payment goes straight into your own Venmo account: TourTask never holds your money.
Questions we get asked
