What is Paystack?

Paystack is an online payment gateway that lets your customers pay you over the internet using the popular payment methods available across Africa. Built to serve businesses and their customers throughout the African market, it accepts cards as well as the local bank and payment options that vary by country, making it a practical choice for tour operators collecting payments from African travellers. When Paystack confirms that a payment has gone through, TourTask automatically marks the related booking as paid and sends confirmation notifications to both the business and the customer.

We don't have a step-by-step guide for Paystack yet. Search Paystack's website (or online) for how to obtain the API credentials listed above, then add them in TourTask with the steps below.

Add Paystack in TourTask

  1. 1

    Open the Paystack card

Go to Configuration → Payment options and click the Paystack card under Online payments → Payment gateways. Not there? Choose Show all gateways under the cards.

  2. 2

    Choose the country and currency

Pick the Country where your Paystack account and its bank account are, and the Currency travellers pay in. Click Add. To change either later, remove Paystack with Remove and add it again.

  3. 3

    Fill in your API credentials

Under Authentication, the card has a field for each:
    Secret key

Each field saves when you click out of it.

  4. 4

    Activate Paystack

Click Activate once every field is filled in. The card turns Active, and travellers can pay with Paystack on your booking page. Every payment goes straight into your own Paystack account: TourTask never holds your money.
