Set up Klarna so travellers pay now, later or in instalments on Klarna's own page. You need your own Klarna merchant account, with an agreement for each country you sell in.

Get a Klarna merchant account

  1. 1

    Sign up with Klarna

Sign up at klarna.com/business for the country your business sells in, and sign Klarna's merchant agreement for it.

  2. 2

    Wait for approval

Klarna reviews each business. Once approved, you can sign in to the Klarna merchant portal.

To sell in more countries later, sign an agreement for each one.

Create your Klarna API credentials

  1. 1

    Open the settings

In the Klarna merchant portal, open Settings and create API credentials.

  2. 2

    Copy the username and password

Copy the username and the password. Credentials from Klarna's playground only take test payments.

A seasonal business renews them

Klarna switches off credentials that go unused for a couple of months. Create new ones before your season starts.

Add Klarna in TourTask

  1. 1

    Open the Klarna card

Go to Configuration → Payment options and click the Klarna card under Online payments → Payment gateways. Not there? Choose Show all gateways under the cards.

  2. 2

    Choose the country and currency

Pick the Country where your Klarna account and its bank account are, and the Currency travellers pay in. Click Add. To change either later, remove Klarna with Remove and add it again.

  3. 3

    Fill in your API credentials

Under Authentication, the card has a field for each:
    API username
    API password

Each field saves when you click out of it.

  4. 4

    Activate Klarna

Click Activate once every field is filled in. The card turns Active, and travellers can pay with Klarna on your booking page. Every payment goes straight into your own Klarna account: TourTask never holds your money.

Klarna serves people who live in its country

Klarna approves travellers who live in the country you chose for it, not visitors from elsewhere. If your travellers come from several Klarna countries, you need an agreement for each. When you add Klarna, choose that country’s own currency: Klarna accepts no other pair.

Questions we get asked
