What is DPO Pay?

DPO Pay is an online payment gateway widely used across Africa, enabling tour operators to accept payments securely from customers using credit and debit cards as well as a range of local payment methods, with the exact options available depending on the country. Built for businesses operating in African markets, it lets travellers pay through the channels they already trust in their region. Once DPO Pay confirms a payment, TourTask automatically marks the related booking as paid and proceeds with the normal confirmation flow, sending confirmations to both your business and the customer.

We don't have a step-by-step guide for DPO Pay yet. Search DPO Pay's website (or online) for how to obtain the API credentials listed above, then add them in TourTask with the steps below.

Add DPO Pay in TourTask

  1. 1

    Open the DPO Pay card

Go to Configuration → Payment options and click the DPO Pay card under Online payments → Payment gateways. Not there? Choose Show all gateways under the cards.

  2. 2

    Choose the country and currency

Pick the Country where your DPO Pay account and its bank account are, and the Currency travellers pay in. Click Add. To change either later, remove DPO Pay with Remove and add it again.

  3. 3

    Fill in your API credentials

Under Authentication, the card has a field for each:
    API key

Each field saves when you click out of it.

  4. 4

    Activate DPO Pay

Click Activate once every field is filled in. The card turns Active, and travellers can pay with DPO Pay on your booking page. Every payment goes straight into your own DPO Pay account: TourTask never holds your money.
