Set up Afterpay so travellers pay for a booking in four instalments while you get the full amount upfront. You need an Afterpay business account in one of the countries listed above.

Also known as Cash App Afterpay

In the United States, travellers see Afterpay as Cash App Afterpay. The setup is the same.

Apply for an Afterpay business account

  1. 1

    Apply with Afterpay

Apply at afterpay.com under For retailers, with your business details.

  2. 2

    Wait for approval

Afterpay reviews each business. Once approved, you can sign in to its business portal.

Get your Merchant ID and Secret key

Afterpay gives each approved account a Merchant ID and a Secret key. Find them in the business portal, or ask your Afterpay contact for them.

Add Afterpay in TourTask

  1. 1

    Open the Afterpay card

Go to Configuration → Payment options and click the Afterpay card under Online payments → Payment gateways. Not there? Choose Show all gateways under the cards.

  2. 2

    Choose the country and currency

Pick the Country where your Afterpay account and its bank account are, and the Currency travellers pay in. Click Add. To change either later, remove Afterpay with Remove and add it again.

  3. 3

    Fill in your API credentials

Under Authentication, the card has a field for each:
    Merchant ID
    Secret key

Each field saves when you click out of it.

  4. 4

    Activate Afterpay

Click Activate once every field is filled in. The card turns Active, and travellers can pay with Afterpay on your booking page. Every payment goes straight into your own Afterpay account: TourTask never holds your money.

Use your Afterpay country’s currency

When you add Afterpay, choose the country your Afterpay account is in and that country’s currency: Afterpay takes no other.

Afterpay limits the order amount

Afterpay sets a minimum and a maximum amount for each account, and a new account's maximum can be below a tour's price. If bookings are refused for their amount, ask Afterpay to raise it.

Questions we get asked

Afterpay pays you the full amount upfront, minus its fee, and collects the four instalments from the traveller.

Yes, from the payment's menu on the booking, up to 120 days after the purchase. Refund an older one in the Afterpay business portal.
