How your monthly AI allowance and AI credits work
Every month your business gets an AI allowance for writing and translating its texts with AI. Economy → AI usage shows what is left, and AI credits take over when it runs out.
What uses the allowance
- Translate to other languages in every editor, and the automatic translation of your texts;
- Generate with AI for a tour's texts, and Generate captions with AI for photos;
- the website builder's AI texts;
- building your AI assistant's knowledge, with Scan website and Generate instructions;
- matching tour names when you import bookings, and reading odometer photos in TourTask Crew.
Your AI assistant's answers to customers and Fill from conversation are on your invoice instead: see Your TourTask invoice. The chat with TourTask support is free.
See what is left
This month shows what is left of each part of the allowance, as a percentage. Every AI dialog shows the same line, such as "Left this month: Standard 80% · Budget 100%".
- The allowance renews on the 1st of each month (UTC), and what is left does not carry over.
- Your first month's allowance counts from the day you signed up.
- When last month's invoice had a larger commission, your allowance grows with it, up to five times the usual, from the day you pay that invoice.
Choose the AI quality
AI quality applies to your whole business. Change it on this page, or with the button on the line of any AI dialog.
Budget
Fast and economical, for short texts. Its part of the allowance covers about five times as much text as Standard's.
Standard
The best texts for everyday use, and the default. When its part is used up, Budget takes over.
Advanced
The most capable, paid only with your credits. You can choose it once you have credits.
Your AI assistant has a model and a spend limit of its own: see Channels.
Buy AI credits
- 1
Open the dialog
On Economy → AI usage, click Buy credits.
- 2
Choose the amount
Pick an amount, or enter one in whole dollars under Other amount. Each dollar you pay gives a dollar of credits.
- 3
Pay
Click Continue to payment and pay it like any TourTask invoice. The credits are added once it is paid.
- Credits never expire, and their balance shows in US dollars.
- Credits pay for Advanced, and for any AI once both parts of the allowance are used up.
- A purchase has no due date: it never makes your account overdue, and Pay all leaves it out. Until it is paid, it shows with Pay now and Cancel.
- Credits are bought by someone with access to Billing.
Automatic translation with credits
When the allowance is used up, automatic translation waits until the 1st. Switch on Use my credits for automatic translations to go on with your credits instead. With Advanced chosen, automatic translations then use it too.
Questions we get asked
With no credits, AI dialogs say the allowance is used up, and their AI button comes back on the 1st. With credits, the AI goes on with them. Credits are never used while part of the allowance can still pay.
You chose Budget, and its part is used up while Standard's is not: choose Standard to go on.
