Location sharing in TourTask Crew: what is shared and when

A started tour shares from Start tour until End tour, or 1 hour after the job's end at the latest. Start tour opens 1 hour before the job's start, or at the start of its day when it has none, and a job without a start time shares only during its started tour.

• Only your latest position and when it was taken: never a trail of where you went.
• Only staff of the job's business who can open the Operations calendar see it. Other crew members never do, and My calendar never shows it.
• It is deleted as soon as its reason ends: its time is over, you press End tour while sharing only during started tours, the job is given to someone else, moved or cancelled, you are no longer a provider of the business, or the business stops showing where its crew is.
• Signing out of the business deletes it at once. If you allow location only while using the app, the one shared around your jobs is deleted the next time you open the app; if you turn location off, any position is deleted.
• It is never used to measure distances: distance tracking uses odometer readings.

The first time, TourTask Crew explains what the business sees, then your phone asks. To share around your jobs, choose While using the app, then Allow all the time on Android, or Allow While Using App, then Change to Always Allow on iPhone.

To change your choice later:

   In TourTask Crew, open Settings. Location sharing shows how you share now: Around your jobs, Only during a started tour or Off.

   Press Open settings beside it.

   Under Location, choose Allow all the time on Android or Always on iPhone to share around your jobs, or a lower choice to share less.

• On Android, around a job that begins while the app is closed, the phone may send only a few positions an hour until the app is opened: Android limits apps in the background. Once it is open, for example from the reminder before the job or with Start tour, it sends about every 30 seconds while moving.
• A phone that does not move sends nothing new, so the map shows its last known position and when it was taken.
• A phone that is off or without signal sends nothing until it is back. On an iPhone where the app was swiped closed, sharing around a job starts once the app is opened again.

In the Operations calendar, a location icon beside a person means they share their position now: click it to open the Crew map on them. While anyone shares, the Crew map button in the calendar's toolbar opens it with everyone.

• Each person is shown with their tour and when their position was taken, such as 08:12 · 25 min ago. After 10 minutes, a position is faded and marked Last known.
• Click a person for their vehicle, the job's times and their phone number.
• Not sharing their position lists the people with a job now whose position is missing, and why, such as Shares only during a started tour. Ask them to allow location all the time.

Show where the crew is, under Configuration → Staff reminders → TourTask Crew, is on by default. Turned off, no phone shares its position with your business, every position is deleted, and Start tour shows only on jobs with a tracked vehicle.
